Cruising Productivity!!! A New Video For You

Well, I am still on the ball at Bora Bora Yacht Club.  The oil is topped up, the anchor and tricolor lights have been swapped with LED bulbs, the VHF antenna has been cleaned and reinstalled, and the dingy is secure on the davits.  So why haven’t I left?  It could be I am just feeling a little lazy.  It could also be that the winds are coming out of the South Southeast around the mountain which would pin me nicely on the fuel dock which runs East West.  I could also take the jerry cans off the deck and start ferrying diesel from the fuel dock to Jargo 10 gallons at a time, but it has been raining off and on every five minutes for a day and a half now.  Or it could be because friends of mine on another boat are arriving this evening and I like to have one more happy hour before I sail.  At the end of the day, it’s all the above.

Every now and then I’ll get frustrated at my own indecision, but it usually fades fast.  My instinct, that feeling in my gut, seldom steers me wrong and I know that when the time is right, I’ll loose the mooring ball and start making way through the pass.  Until then, I’ll do whatever feels right.  That’s one of the beautiful things about this life.  That is, taking the time to let things unfold instead of always forcing them.

That’s not to say I’ve been a complete bum the last few days.  I’ve gotten a bit of writing done I owed some others and more immediately, I’ve finally watched, sorted, and cut a video from the big, big passage.  It was just under 3000 miles from Isla Isabela in the Galapagos to Fatu Hiva in the Marquesas.  Three months in near total isolation did a small number on me and I was only now able to go back and sort through the videos with real enjoyment in the accomplishment.  It is a little long, but then again, so was the passage!  Enjoy,

Beautiful !!! And so wonderful to see just a few of the day to day things that go on in the boat. It could have been an hour and still entertaining. Was that one sailboat enough to set off your radar if you had been sleeping?
