06:22 – Anchor alarm rips me from a deep sleep.  I know I am not dragging, but the boat has swung to a shift in the wind.  Have to crawl out of the bunk regardless to reset the alarm.  False or not, I won’t ignore them for fear of developing a bad habit.  Back to the bunk with sleepy eyes.  Very faint light on the horizon.

06:35 – Roosters.  Damn you roosters.  I like roosters actually.  My mind drifts back to my grandfathers farm and the roosters there that started our mornings.  The rooster did it.  No more sleep this morning.  Time to roll out of the bunk for real.  A quick look, beautiful morning.  Wind shifted back out of the east.  Should be a nice day.

07:05 – Smell of coffee sets the gears in my mind to churning.  Unwrap an inverter, a last minute addition to the boat from Texas just before I left.  Like a jigsaw puzzle I play with possibilities for installing the magical device that converts my boats 12 volt battery power to household 120 volt power.  It holds the promise of a working vacuum and recharged cell phones.  Extra treats in the dog bowl today.  Mexican pitbull picked a fight with Georgia at a restaurant yesterday.  She sent him packing with tail between his legs.  Never came back out of the alley he ran into.  Good girl.

07:30 – My old standby for breakfast, three soft boiled eggs over toast.  Eating in the cockpit watching the morning departures of the local pangas, sport fisherman, and the odd sailboat.  The diesel engine hums along recharging my refrigeration system.  It’s purr and the warm morning sun lull me back into a sense of drowsiness.  Can’t succumb this time.  Must get back into work mode.

08:10 – Putting together my To Do list for the day.  If it doesn’t get written down, it doesn’t happen.  First, pick up the boat and make her sail ready.  Cute girl at the happy hour last night…..focus.  Install the inverter and knock out the accumulated Georgia hair.  Shave.  Like I said, if it isn’t on the list, it won’t happen.  Pick up a few fresh things at the market, eggs, garlic, oranges and bread.  Dictionary says panaderia is the word for bakery.  Maybe I can find some fresh bread instead of bimbo from the super.  Confirm ticket prices with the bus guy at the ferry terminal.  See if Georgia can take the bus with me or not.  If not, then call Pepe the vet and arrange for boarding.  Need to scout the back lagoon.  Heard of a low rent marina in protected water that might be a good place to leave the boat while I bus ride to Campeche.  Confirm the visit once more with the village.  Turn off the laptop…
